Just in time for all the holiday cooking chores, Harris Teeter will open its newest Charleston-area supermarket next week.
The Matthews, N.C.-based chain will cut the ribbon at 8 a.m. Nov. 11 in James Island Center at 1739 Maybank Highway on James Island and open immediately afterward.
Harris Teeter acquired the store as one of seven in the Charleston market from Piggly Wiggly two years ago. The 43,000-square-foot store underwent major renovations and will be the chain’s sixth supermarket in Charleston and 17th in the region. It features seven checkout lanes and four express checkout lanes. Hours will be 6 a.m. to midnight daily. Store manager is Michelle Sandoval. Harris Teeter is a subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Kroger Co.
